Executive Coaching
Well, if you dropped in here, there must be a bigger game going on for you than exclusively personal coaching.

That doesn't mean I am necessarily going to show up with a tie and PDA. However, coaching executives or groups, especially with my horse friends, can be exiting and fulfilling - even for the horses! So, what's with executive or corporate coaching, anyway?
Businesses run fast these days - keeping up with customers, competition and costs.
Executives must stay several strides ahead. Often we have limiting beliefs that hold us back from attaining our goals - corporate, team or personal/professional. Often we think we have or are in a team but it is really a group -- not a tem. What is the difference? We can facilitate your understanding and ultimately make a positive impact on productivity and return on investment. We also tend to not see things directly in front of us - or we unintentionally procrastinate - or, well, you know you the rest! Have you made the transition from a "manager" to a "leader?"
The bottom line: as a leader, you are often faced with difficult issues, problems and decisions. You are responsible and accountable for your actions. What is the wake you leave behind? What is your style? How effective are you? Tough questions.
Who can you go to when you need a mentor? A teacher? A sounding board? An inner-self checkup? Probably not anyone in your peer group, your "troops" or your boss (who may or may not be a leader). Who can walk with you and ask the hard questions with impunity, to point you to the right direction in order to make those hard decisions? To get you moving forward - in the direction of your choosing? How about the same questions for your direct staff or your middle managers?
You might be thinking, I've never needed a coach before? Hum.... well, many of us have tried to address these issues on our own - solo, loner, island, self-serve. You can find the path and even get moving on it. Yet, how many of us are really objective with ourselves? Ask the hard questions (and look for the answer!!)? Hold ourselves accountable? There are a lot of distractions out there.... That's why there have been coaches for other venues for a very long time.
- Keep focused
- Stay on your path
- Head outside of the envelop
- Get out of the darn box about things!
- Get what you really want! In business and career and your life! (Gee, they're not separate?)
In organizations, there are the mission statements, visions, passions, plans and outcomes.
- Are they congruent?
- Are they articulated clearly?
- Does everyone get it?
- Do they believe it - live it?
- Are you the prime example?
- Is energy focused there or is it drained by diversion?
- Are people majoring in the minors?
I could write a list a mile long - you probably could too. The important question is, "Do you know what you don't know?"
Coaching at the leadership level balances understanding of self and mission, thought and action, desire and results.
Coaching can move the "troops" into a cohesive, congruent team to produce more, with higher quality, in less time with lower cost than a "group of people just working together."
Thought that was the definition of a team, didn't you? Well, it's rarely true! There are lots of groups and few teams. Where are your folks in this picture? You MAY NOT KNOW! Do you know that you don't know? Pretty important to know! You know?
Take some action - DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT! Make a choice for organization's future.
